Shapes Today By Susan Hable

We love books that do more than sit on a shelf. Susan created this book for all ages using her curious and lovely fine art collage works. It is a book with no words, just images to ponder and see what you want to see, discuss and enjoy. A wonderful book for the wondering young mind and a way to connect with out devices. We had many interesting questions asked at book signings and opening the mind (hopefully!) of many young friends with fun conversations and a few surprises. 

With a brand-new fresh and playful cover, the second edition of Shapes Today contains 36 hand-cut collages by artist and product designer Susan Hable. “In everything I've created, from textiles and bags to furniture and art, basic shapes are the common thread,” she says. “And there's something so fundamental and childlike about that concept.” Children and adults will delight in exploring the modern, bright forms, and sharing what they see in the collages (and then comparing them to Susan’s clever interpretations in the book’s appendix). “Shapes can be the impetus for so much beauty and creativity,” says Hable. “My hope is that this book will plant a seed of art with children.”
